Imagine this:
A ship or boat gets beached. Maybe the tide went out and they are stuck on a sandbar, or maybe the engine stalled out, and the ship drifted. It is stuck and needs help to be moved. Due to its location, it’s hard for a ship to pull alongside, especially one with the towing power to actually make a difference.
Here’s an example:
While SeaTow and Tow Boat US do many jobs, for the big ones, it’s the job of the Coast Guard. Sometimes, they need to get a line to other deck, be it for towing or transporting supplies.
We got contacted by the Canadian Coast Guard, wondering if our launcher could work for them. They have been testing it out to see how it lines up with various rescue operations, including the type described above. Here’s a DTX Shoulder Shot launcher on the deck of one of their search and rescue vessels.
